Exoplanets are NASA’s current primary goals, and thus have suggested that a huge, pliable space telescope be built to explore the newest ones. A 4 metre mirror that could help to observe clearly and far-reaching earth-like worlds is the Habitable Exoplanet Observatory (HabEx) In principle, astronomers want to gather proof that exoplanets can support life and people can settle in the future. The most attractive feature of the HabEx is its 52 m-wide sail that can filter light from the distant stars. The light from the far-off stars generally prevents astronomers from spotting the nearby exoplanets.

The HabEx blocks the stars’ lights with its extra long sail and takes pictures of the surrounded area or objects afterwards. The new technology is one of four projects declared by NASA to be part of the next major observatory. The current problem for NASA is the source of funding. By 2021, the space telescope would have enough funds to start in the 2030s. HabEx is comparing with the others the cheapest exoplanet hunting mission. The positive nature of the project is high as the space agency works to collect cash to get the project started.

Similarly, the current problem is the accumulation of exoplanets which are found more quickly. It is difficult for astronomers to study each individually. More than 4,100 exoplanets have been found and it is practically impossible to study them. The exoplanets are targeted because of their terrestrial nature, which has enhanced life opportunities. The exoplanets might help to unravel some hidden facts about the cosmos. Space agencies such as NASA and ESA are about to begin hunting for easy ways to study the exoplanets they have discovered.
