For blocking those calls, the companies will use algorithms and network scanning in the same way that they do for scanning emails. It will not, however, completely stop the calls; instead, it will give customers the option to opt out. However, the regulator stated that the 5 million automated calls that consumers receive each month will undoubtedly be reduced.
